So we’ve kept plugging away at the time-consuming process that is potty training, and we’ve finally had a big breakthrough. Within the last three days, Amanda has started consistently going when she sits on the toilet. The best part is she gets this huge smile on her face when she starts to go, and then she says, “maybe try again?” So she tries again, and does this totally over-exaggerated pushing face that is so silly and cute. She’s started to get a big kick out of using the potty.
She also started naming off to me all the other “big kids” who know how to use the potty – including mommy, daddy, and grammy. Then she’ll say, “Does Kaybee use da potty? NOOOOO! She too little!” I think she likes being able to do something that Kaitlyn can’t.
Unfortunately, Amanda hasn’t gotten down the concept of a number 2 yet… so her cute little undies are so sad because they are dirty. This is one of those instances where Amanda’s love of melodrama and empathy for all inanimate objects may actually come in handy. Hopefully she’ll get that concept nailed down soon.
So the score for this week, you ask? P 17, A 3. But Amanda’s 3 were unfortunately stinky, so I think that might count as a double whammy. Now I have to go do some laundry.
